PFAS

The PFAS family of emerging contaminants presents great concerns for human, fish and wildlife health. One of the growing Eco Threats, these substances are known endocrine inhibitors, can cause certain cancers, interfere with reproduction in humans, fish and wildlife, and are considered “forever chemicals”. PFAS were extensively used in making certain plastics, pizza boxes, fast-food wrappers, nonstick cookware, waterproofing sprays and substances, paints and dyes and firefighting foam. Check here for articles concerning these emerging contaminants and moves being made to protect our waters, wildlife, fisheries and community health from these emerging contaminants.
